Attack Before Getting a Checkmate

by Saalik Siddikki

Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway. -- Steven Coallier

Have you ever paused for a moment and pondered, in the hustle bustle of everyday hectic activities that life is going to kill you anyway. There is no doubt about it.  What only matters is span of time.  Stop in the middle of your tracks right away and check your performance.  Ask yourself bluntly:

  • What were your goals?

  • When and where did you start pursuing your goals?

  • What tracks did you choose towards your destiny?

  • What luggage did you take with you and how much is left now?

  • Did you have any companions or your left alone to conquer the world?

  • What milestones came your way and where did you move from there?

  • Have you achieved any single goal or more?

  • Are you satisfied with your journey towards your destiny?

OR

Have you been just wandering around, only doing window shopping, killing time, joining and quitting jobs merely to make both ends meet and wasting your energies purposelessly in futile exercises?

It is only you, indeed, who could answer these questions to determine your current status.

Suppose, if you say that you have achieved all or most of your goals, then what?  Will you be spending the rest of your life huddled up in the comfort zone of your fulfilled dreams and desires?  I don’t think you would think on these lines.  No successful person does.

On the contrary, if you are one of those who could not achieve anything in life and have fallen victim to complacence and self-pity, then you certainly need to take a revolutionary step to get out of this state of mind that is eroding your remaining ambition, enthusiasm and fervor.

Remember, you are never out of the battleground of life till your last breath.  In that case you cannot take risk of ignoring the surroundings where everybody is fighting for his/her own survival and there is a definite probability that someone attacks you before you could raise your defending shield.  What to do then?  Should you take out your sword of revenge and start killing others?  No, I didn’t mean that.

The only point that I intend to convey to you is that you should not become the scapegoat of circumstances.  Don’t kill anyone to make your way forward towards survival, but then, also never get assaulted in ignorance.

What is life?  Composition of opportunities - sometimes recurring and sometimes new – giving you a chance to avail, exerting every drop of your energy and doing as best as you can.

If no opportunity comes your way, create one for yourself.  Do your best on every frontier as if this is the last battle of your life and see how victories pile up behind you raising you to the zenith of achievements and gratification.

That is exactly what it means to attack life.

A huge SUCCESS and ACHIEVEMENT

- Think Succeeded - had not occurred in a flash of a moment, nor is it the outcome of some brainstorming.  Personally I feel that it has grown out of the fertile land of positive thinking.  I have already written somewhere else that all the credit of a change in my thinking pattern goes to Anthony Robbins.  I read only one of his books, 'Mind Power', back in 2004 and applied some of its contents to get rid of migraine and succeeded.

And quite mysteriously, I have been swimming through the stormy waters of unfavourable circumstances since 2004.  I lost my job, sold property to start business and lost everything on the morning of 28th January, 2008.  And then there was a long battle with the damn suicidal depression that almost devastated me physically, spiritually, psychologically and intellectually as well.  And I am one of those bravest people on earth who overcome their suicidal depression without any medication or consultation with a medical expert.  That is God's greatest blessing.

(Hey, hey, hey - - - please do not take a pity on me, I really hate that.  I am just narrating the facts, not crying over the spilt milk.  Should you feel interested, please move the cursor to your right. There is a page titled as 'You must read this first' under SPECIAL PAGES.  I owe you a special prayer if you do so!)

If you have time and interest, I would like you to please follow me right from the very first post to the latest one and derive a conclusion whether I deserve to be labelled as a SUCCESS and ACHIEVER or not.

Personally I have started considering myself a huge SUCCESS and ACHIEVER because of the mail that I received from an Australian gentleman last week.  He writes:

'Dear Mr. Saalik, I am a 66 year old person living only with my dog 'XYZ'.  My children abandoned me after the death of my loving wife.

Before I happened to visit your blog today, I had already had the last talk of my life with XYZ.  Life had become so painful for me.  Then I turned on the computer and started net surfing to find someone who could adopt my dog after my death - and found your blog.  I read your story and other articles and have just told my XYZ 'you are so unlucky that I've got another friend in the other side of the world'.

Some of my friends keep asking me about how much I am earning from my blogs.  Till writing this, I have not earned a single cent from any of my blogs nor is it my ultimate goal.  I need to earn a lot to fulfill my children's dreams that they sacrificed for my failed ambitions and adventures.  But I have other plans for achieving monetary targets.  I am studying and learning internet / affiliate marketing.  I welcome any helping suggestions in this regard.

Perhaps my friends measure my success in terms of money whereas I measure it through the achievement that I have mentioned above.

What do you say?  Please share your feelings and thoughts to inspire others.  Thank you.

God protect you from all failures, mishaps, diseases, tensions, depression, suicidal thoughts, shattered dreams and hopelessness.

How to Succeed - Take Three Big Steps to Your Destiny

Success is a process of applying certain actions to accomplish clearly defined goals. It is a journey marked with challenges, crossing milestones and constantly moving forward. Success itself is not a destiny. Achievement of goals open up new doors to new horizons to be explored and the process continues.

Even a genius cannot clearly define his final destiny in terms of setting and achieving goals. People who are blessed with a thinking mind keep creating new challenges to test their will power, determination, persistence, guts and courage. It runs in their veins like hot blood. They are born with the habit of deep thinking, striving hard to overcome challenges and achieving success.

Does it mean, then, that others cannot achieve success in life? Of course not. As I said success is a process, anybody who has a vision, clearly defined goals and determination can achieve success by inculcating certain actions and habits. Here are three primary and colossal steps towards achieving success in any field of life. These primary steps are reinforced with further additional small steps.

You do not have to be a genius to take these big steps towards achieving your goals. Before further reading the article, please do a little exercise that would definitely energize your heart and mind.

Just find a peaceful place, sit down in a relaxed posture, close your eyes, do some deep breathing, empty your mind of any disturbing thoughts, focus your whole self on a single point of inhaling positive energy through a divine stream and exhale all the negative energy. This is the beginning of your journey towards success. Making it a habit and routine at the start of every day will change the pattern of your thinking and behaviour to reap a huge crop of success.

Now peruse and understand the significance of these three big steps and plan your very personal journey towards your destiny.

1st Big Step - Goals (Pursuit - Journey)

The very first big step towards your destiny is defining your goals clearly. It is a common practice of most of the successful people to write down their goals. The waves of energy emitting from written words keep charging the batteries of your sub-conscious mind and remind you that you have some commitments, with yourself indeed, to fulfill.

By writing down your goals on a paper, you create four types of actions on the slate of your sub-conscious mind:

1. Your mind's general memory records your goals.

2. Your eyes transfer the images of words to create a reminder in a specific portion of your mind.

3. Your hands memorize the words i.e. your goals.

4. By speaking the words that you write, you also convey a special message to your listening memory.

So, writing your goals is not simply an action of putting the words on a paper. It is, in fact, a process that ultimately reminds and helps you to stand up and move ahead in pursuit of your destiny. An experiment in Yale School of Law proved this truth decades ago.

Remember that every journey always starts with a goal (a destiny in mind). Otherwise it is nothing more than a purposeless wandering in the jungle of oblivion.

2nd Big Step - Motivation (Fire - Obsession)

The initiation of a journey is a positive sign that indicates your determination to achieve your goals but it does not guarantee that you would reach your destiny. You also need fuel and energy to help you continue moving ahead. This energy comes from motivation (or inspiration). Motivation acts like a fire to keep the engine running and further to keep the vehicle of your ambitious drive moving.

People obsessed with their ideas, targets and goals always seek and find motivation through different means e.g. reading biographies of successful people, watching and following them and deep thinking.

They analyze their actions without giving themselves any grace marks or overlooking their mistakes.

3rd Big Step - Action (Challenge - Determination)

Choosing goals and starting a pursuit cannot be marked with success until and unless the most powerful and dominant force of persistent actions is not applied in the process. Actions are encountered with new challenges and challenges could not be tackled without stubborn determination.

Determination is an expression of strength of mind, will power, fortitude, resilience, guts and grit of a person. Actions fully supported with determination are weapons of destruction. Yes, they devastate all the internal and external negative forces trying to hinder your journey towards destiny.

Achievement of goals is not possible without these three big steps which are also the pillars of the mega structure of your success in any field of life.

About Think SUCCEEDED

No one is a born winner or achiever. Pick a name from the known history including the best elite class of mankind, the Prophets & Messengers chosen by The Almighty God. Every achiever, every leader, every inventor, and every scientist had to pass through hardships of life to succeed in achieving their goals.

Every achievement demands its price and those who are willing and determined to pay through the nose are bestowed with the honour of tasting success. There are no shortcuts to success. However, genius, wise and intelligent people and social reformers have laid down some principles and rules, after having crossed the stormy waters, which could be used as power tools to steer you to destiny.

Success has a variety of different meanings to different individuals. Here are some famous quotes on success :

What Is Success? by Ralph Waldo Emerson :-

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty; To find the best in others; To give of one's self; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

Doing What You Love

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. - Albert Schweitzer

Following Your Own Path

A successful life is one that is lived through understanding and pursuing one’s own path, not chasing after the dreams of others. - Chin-Ning Chu

Living Each Moment

Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to succeed. - Corita Kent

Overcoming Obstacles

Success is not measured by what a man accomplishes, but by the opposition he has encountered and the courage with which he has maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds. - Charles Lindbergh

Treating People Well

Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people — your family, friends, and co-workers, and even strangers you meet along the way. - Barbara Bush

Excelling in Multiple Areas of Your Life

I believe that being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can’t truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles. - Zig Ziglar

Doing Your Best

The man who has done his level best, and who is conscious that he has done his best, is a success, even though the world may write him down as a failure. - B.C. Forbes

Seeking and Finding Love

The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration. - Pearl S. Buck

Leaving the World a Better Place

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. - Albert Pike

Success is Many Things

To laugh often and much;To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. - Bessie Stanley

To me success is a deep emotion of satisfaction for an accomplishment of a desire which was not intended to hurt or humiliate any other person or to deprive him of his joy.

However, in whatever words or expressions you define success, one thing is definite that no one can succeed until he / she thinks SUCCEEDED.

The sole purpose of creating this blog is to arouse an awareness in today's young men and women about discovering their true SELF, equipping them with the power tools of Personal Growth, Self Improvement, Personality Development, Positive Thinking, Character Building and developing a clear Vision to determine the right Direction. It all gathers up to help them choose their goals carefully and go into action to achieve them.

Our youth have no lesser talent, potential or ability, both in quality and quantity, than those of other regions. They just need mentoring and appropriate coaching which is the basic aim of Think SUCCEEDED.

I hope young college students and aspiring executives will take the One Big STEP of changing their pattern of thinking as a challenge. The bigger the challenge the more prestigious the award.

So, my young friends! Stop saying '' I can '' or '' I will '' and start saying " I am " simply by Thinking SUCCEEDED.

Allah bless you with success, peace of mind, health, achievement of goals, fulfilment of dreams and prosperity.
